Complete web solution

Photographer Eric Bakke used the services of Eighth Floor Creative for a variety of projects. What started as a portfolio website grew into an photography library which was followed up with a custom blog.

Portfolio for showcasing work

Initially, Eighth Floor Creative helped redesign Eric's portfolio website, which showcases a handful of selected images. We developed a fast, efficient system that allows for easy changing of images and quick display times. Even though the site is mostly comprised of images, there is still critical text that is used effectively within the website for search engine optimization.

Image library for clients

Shooting a lot of sports and action images, Eric had a challenge delivering multiple files to multiple clients in a timely and efficient manner. Some customers requested samples and others wanted to browse through all his photographs. Eighth Floor Creative created an image library showcasing all his images for his clients. After Eric edits his files on his computer, he uploads them to the server. Each image is then searchable throughout the system based on their caption, keywords and other IPTC (metadata) information in a matter of seconds.

Since some clients needed access to higher resolution files, a user authentication system was developed to allow tiered access to images in his library. Now, with the help of Eighth Floor Creative, Eric's workflow has been streamlined and simplified, and all his clients can find the images they need quickly and easily.

Blog for separate features

We also set up a blog for Eric to highlight his experiences and assignments as a professional photographer. This showcases more of his work as well as demonstrating to clients how he works as a photographer. Eric's blog uses WordPress with a custom theme that maintains a consistent look and feel of his other sites.

All three sites give Eric a complete web presence so he can showcase his work, service his current clients and build new client relationships.
