Subscription based website

EcomEnergy is a provider of information and risk management for the natural gas industry. They required a subscription-based website to deliver their information to paid members. Initially, EcomEnergy was using another developer for this task, but they did not have the knowledge, environment, or systems to achieve what we EcomEnergy was looking for.

Custom content management system

Eighth Floor Creative was brought in to develop a custom system to achieve EcomEnergy's goals and provide reliability for them and their subscribers. The information supplied by EcomEnergy is based on charts and descriptions of those charts. The custom system we developed allows EcomEnergy to instantly add, edit and remove charts and descriptions.

Since EcomEnergy's Membership area is a subscription-based site, PayPal was integrated into the site to allow convenient payment. When a user registers and pays, the EcomEnergy system automatically authorizes that user's account and allows them to proceed with their login to the site.

Security and monitoring

With any subscription or pay-wall site, security is an important issue. Passwords and accounts are stored using best practice techniques and all user activity is logged. This allows EcomEnergy to constantly monitor its subscribers' activity while still delivering the best content possible.

Eighth Floor Creative created a custom, secure, subscription-based membership site with two users in mind: EcomEnergy, so they can update their content, and their members, who access the site for the latest indicators of the natural gas industry.
